Prudence Mabele Award

The International AIDS Society’s inaugural Prudence Mabele Award was awarded to Dudu Dlamini in 2018.

Dudu Dlamini is the SWEAT Advocacy acting manager and founder and National Coordinator for Mothers for the Future.

The Prudence Mabele Prize is an endowed, biennial prize introduced to honour radical and courageous women making deep connections between the fight against HIV, feminism, and gender and reproductive justice. The prize is awarded to an individual who embodies the values, spirit and activism of the leading HIV and gender rights activist Prudence Mabele.

Scholars are incredibly proud to have been tasked by the International AIDS Society with telling the heroic story of Dudu Dlamini.
